I’ve practiced across Alabama, Virginia and Maryland, in departments ranging from busy city hospitals to small community shops.
I trained at Emory (MD, MBA) and completed my emergency medicine residency at VCU. Practicing across that spectrum of settings has given me a working view of how care is organized, financed and delivered, without losing sight of the patient in front of me.
Outside the department, I build against problems I encounter repeatedly. The emergency visit is structurally ill-suited for patient education. AFTER is my attempt to address that: plain-language guidance designed to complement primary care, not substitute for it. The French-learning app is closer to home: a way for my wife and children to learn my native language together.

A little play.
When one parent speaks the language and no one else does, passing it on is hard. Notre Monde is built for the whole family to learn together, parents included, rather than for a child alone. Families set it up for their own household, including the language being learned and who is learning it. Calm and unhurried by design, and made for the moments when a screen is the honest answer: a flight, a waiting room, a long drive.
